Understanding Urinary Incontinence in Women

Urinary incontinence — the involuntary leakage of urine — is a common and often distressing condition affecting millions of women. It can significantly impact quality of life, yet many women suffer in silence.

At Kaneko Health, we understand how personal and disruptive these symptoms can be. We offer innovative, non-surgical solutions with satisfying results.

Types of Urinary Incontinence

1. Stress Incontinence

Leakage occurs during physical movement or pressure on the bladder such as:

  • Coughing

  • Sneezing

  • Laughing

  • Exercise (jumping, running, lifting)

Cause: Weakened pelvic floor muscles or support structures, often due to childbirth or aging.

2. Urge Incontinence

Also known as overactive bladder, this involves:

  • Sudden, intense urges to urinate

  • Involuntary leakage before reaching the restroom

  • Frequent urination, even at night

Cause: Overactivity of the bladder muscles or neurological signals.

3. Mixed Incontinence

A combination of both stress and urge symptoms. This is very common, especially in midlife and postmenopausal women.
